An Avid Cyclist
This is a favorite picture by all friends. It was taken when he pass the final line on Texas Hotter’n Hell 2013.
Life was exciting for Shipeng after we became “empty nester”. He was reckless, pushing his performance limits for biking and he set many new goals for himself in life. He told me he would spend more time biking after retirement.
His biking friends are my real jealousy: he announced to me that he would need to “reserve” every Sunday for biking with friends. After some negotiation, he agreed to reserve Saturday to social with me.
He took three of his sister for a biking trip when we visit our family in winter of 2103.
He spent a lot of time studying his and other biking buddies’ electronic records. Ignoring his wife on dinner table. He was really into improve his biking performance.
I was amazed on the distance he rode. 13,719 miles is more than a round trip to China.
On one of his bike race, he had three flat tires and still managed to finish the ride.
He went to White rock with friends and with us many times. So we decided to give him the memorial party there.
