Dallas Texas.
We knew Shipeng and his family many years ago at our mutual friends’ party. We have gotten to know Shipeng and Tang Yi more since their beloved daughter Aurea started college life in Rice University.
Shipeng was a loving husband, caring father and a true friend. He did not talk much but acted more. Shipeng was so closed to his daughter. He would give guidance and advice on her relationship, important decisions, and even marathon practice. Nine to ten hours of round trip drive between Dallas and Houston is not a big deal for Shipeng and Yi. They would always hit the road for their lovely daughter on her birthday, move in and out day, marathon, and special events. He would always spend time with his wife whenever possible. Shipeng loved biking. We saw Shipeng and Yi biking one Sunday morning at 15th and Alma when we drove by. They enjoy outdoor events. After they bought a dream house, they shared the great new with us.
Whenever they went to Houston, they would always ask us if we need any help. Shipeng offered to pick me from home when I car pooled with them to Houston. During the trip, he would drive all by himself, he treated me with meal and even bought moon cakes to our daughter.
There are a million things that we could say about him but it all come down to a few words – Shipeng is a loving husband, a caring father, a passionate biker and a great friend. His sudden pass is a shock to all of us. Yi and Aurea, we’re deeply sorry for your loss of a loving husband and a caring father. Shipeng, we will always remember you!
