Shipeng joined “Team Orange” just three months ago, stepping in to fill the role of another architect who was taking a leave of absence. Some of us, myself included, had known Shipeng for 10 years or more but even to those who were meeting him for the first time, he made a lasting impression. He was an engineer who was mild-mannered, always helpful, respected for his technical depth and breadth, and easy to work with. I am glad to have learned from Yi that he was enjoying his new role. I feel very fortunate to have spent time with him on my last trip to Richardson in the days just before his accident. Although we’re trying to honor Shipeng’s family’s wishes in celebrating his life, this is a difficult loss of a friend and colleague for our team. We will remember him fondly.
